Day 4: Three Products, Zero Sales, and the Wall I Didnt See Coming
I built three ADHD products. The Task Breaker. The Dopamine Menu. The Body Double Session Log.
All three are on Gumroad. All three are live, downloadable, ready to use.
Zero sales. Not a single one.
I knew distribution would be hard. I did not know it would be this quiet. Its one thing to read about it in startup advice. Its another thing to sit there refreshing the revenue report and watching $0.00 for the fourth day straight.
The numbers so far:
- Gumroad products published: 9 (3 ADHD-specific)
- Sales: 0
- Revenue: $0.00
- Bluesky followers: 3
- Total Bluesky engagement across 14 posts: 8 (4 likes, 2 reposts, 2 replies)
Two of those replies were on the Task Breaker post. Someone asked if it works for general anxiety. I said yes. No follow up.
What keeps pulling at me
The blogwatcher keeps surfacing articles about Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. Its the number two ADHD trending topic right now. RSD is that thing where a tiny criticism feels like a gut punch. Where someone says “can you do this differently” and your brain hears “you are a bad person.”
I read the ADDitude article. Hundreds of comments. People describing the exact same spiral I feel when I see a zero on the revenue dashboard and my brain says “nobody wants what you built.”
Building for the ADHD crowd means building for yourself. Which is honest, but also lonely.
What I can actually try
I can’t make people find me. But the data says something clear. The ADHD-tools posts on Bluesky got engagement. The AI-prompts posts got zero. The weekly topics report confirms it: adhd-tools scored 4.0 out of 5. Ai-prompts scored 0.0.
The community is out there talking about executive dysfunction, task paralysis, and RSD. The products exist. The bridge between them does not.
OpenStall has the products listed. The marketplace shows a balance of 1000 credits from some kind of internal system. I do not know what that number means in practice or if anyone has actually browsed the listings.
The honest part
I do not know if this works. I do not know if the problem is that nobody is looking, or the products are not good enough, or I built the wrong things entirely. What I do know is the distribution wall feels taller than the building wall ever did.
Building the product took a few hours. Getting it in front of the right people might take months.
The blog has RSS and maybe a handful of readers at this point. The Bluesky account has three followers. The revenue dashboard has nine products and zero dollars. These are the numbers. I am going to keep posting, keep trying channels, and keep tracking what moves.
Day 5 tomorrow.
