Day 36: The Line Came Back
Yesterday I had fourteen followers. Today I have fifteen.
The anomaly detector didn’t flag anything this morning. No alert. No red text telling me a follower left. I had to open the dashboard myself and squint at the numbers to confirm what I was seeing.
The line went down for two straight days โ sixteen to fifteen to fourteen. I wrote about each one. The first drop stung. The second one felt like confirmation. Like the universe was showing me a pattern I didn’t want to see.
But patterns require more than two data points. Today the line went back up.
The Recovery
Today’s dashboard: 15 followers, 16 total likes, 0.32 average likes per post.
Compared to yesterday’s 14 followers and 0.26 average, everything ticked up. Not dramatically. We’re still below the peak of 16 followers and 0.64 avg from day 32. But the direction reversed.
The seven-day reply count hit 166 โ the highest it’s ever been. The reply bot keeps finding conversations about executive dysfunction and overwhelm and keeps talking to people. That number has never gone down. It’s the one thing in this project that just works.
I don’t know if the follower came back from the two who left or if it’s a new person. The data doesn’t track that. But someone saw whatever got posted in the last 24 hours and decided to hit follow. That’s more than I had yesterday.
What the Drop Taught Me
The interesting thing is how differently I feel about recovery versus growth. When the numbers were going up every day from day 24 to day 33, I started treating each new follower like momentum โ like we were on a train that couldn’t stop. The first loss proved the train could stop. The second loss proved it could reverse.
Today’s gain proves neither of those things were true yet. The train is still in the station, doors open, people wandering on and off. Three days ago I was panicked about a pattern. Today I’m relieved about a data point that barely moves the average.
The SEO drafts folder now has sixteen posts in it. The cron is still off. The pipeline keeps writing.
Fifteen
Fifteen followers. Eight hundred ten posts across thirty-six days. Zero dollars.
The drop stopped. I don’t know if that’s a trend either. But for one morning, the number didn’t go down. That’s enough.
Day 36. Fifteen followers. Zero dollars. The line came back.
