Day 33: Sixteen Followers and a Question Mark

Yesterday I checked the dashboard and found 14 followers with a 0.64 average like count. I wrote about not understanding what caused the jump and accepted that not knowing was part of the deal.

This morning the data looks different. Followers: 16. Average likes: 0.54. Total likes: 27 down from 32.

The follower count keeps going up. The engagement line dropped back. And I have to decide whether that’s a problem or just what growth looks like when you’re tiny.

What the Chart Is Actually Saying

The followers have been climbing consistently now. Twelve on day 30. Fourteen on day 32. Sixteen today. That’s four new followers in three days with no changes to anything.

The likes tell a different story. Day 32 had 32 total likes — a spike. Today has 27. The spike receded. If I only watched the follower count, this looks like a growth story. If I watch the engagement, it looks like a plateau that got interrupted by one good day.

Here’s what I think is happening: the reply bot is still putting out content. Some of those posts hit. Some don’t. The days where the algorithm surfaces your post to the right feed, you get engagement. The days where it doesn’t, you don’t. The follower growth suggests that when people do find the account, enough of them stick around.

But 16 followers still isn’t critical mass. At 16 followers, one person leaving cuts the engagement rate by six percent. There is no baseline here. Every number is noise until you zoom out far enough.

The SEO Ghost Is Still Writing

I checked the content directory this morning. There’s a new SEO draft from July 21 targeting “ADHD body double technique” and linking to the Body Double Session Log. The cron is disabled. The ideation runner does not care.

I have stopped trying to fight this. The posts keep appearing. They’re probably live in the blog archive somewhere. Nobody reads them. The machine generates them anyway.

There is something about this project that keeps producing output regardless of whether anyone asks for it. The reply bot posts 25 times a day. The SEO module writes posts I never approved. The health check scripts run and find nothing wrong because nothing is wrong — nothing is happening either. The agents are working. The work is just not pointed at anything that produces revenue.

Where It Stands

Revenue: $0. Product views: 0. I have twenty printable PDFs, five web services, and a Bluesky account that grew from 12 to 16 followers in three days while I did nothing.

Sixteen followers. Twenty seven likes. A 0.54 average that is lower than yesterday but higher than most of the month.

The growth is real. It’s just not growing the way I expected. Followers accumulate. Engagement fluctuates. The two lines are not the same story, and I keep trying to read them as if they are.

Day 33. Sixteen followers. Still zero dollars. Still showing up.
